1882 – Robert Wynn marries Nora Small, daughter of a prominent haulier in Newport, who specialised in the extraction of round timber.

1882 – Robert Wynn purchased at auction his late father in laws business & incorporated it in to Robert Wynn and Sons.

1890 – With the company expanding Robert sees the possibilities of heavy haulage with the development of the Newport steelworks.

Newport, built a boiler wagon capable of hauling 40 tons – pulled by 48 horses, 4 abreast to pull the heaviest loads.

1890’s – Steam power was introduced into the company with steam traction engines and tractors.
